about us

In 2020 I graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. I had a design job lined up and due to covid, it was rescinded. This forced me to move back home with my parents (who I love dearly) and figure out what was next for my life. At the time social media came into the world and I decided to start sharing videos about my design growth from my parent’s garage. The time I spent making clothes from that garage for anyone who would let me shot me onto an unexpected path where my growth journey as an aspiring designer became my job. Slowly, people caught wind of my work and were kind enough to want work with me to create custom pieces for themselves. This allowed me to move out of parent’s house 3 years later and open a design studio in Brooklyn, NY.

Over the next 4 years I went from making clothes for my friends and loved ones, to making custom looks for musical performances, red carpets, and even political events. I have spent almost every day of the last 7 years working to be better at patterning, draping, and sewing the pieces that come out of my studio. Each day touching fabrics, understanding how garments should fit and feel, looking for what clothes I wish existed and how I would want those clothes to feel. one day in 2024 I decided I wanted to start a small brand - A brand that reflected my experience wearing a school uniform for my entire youth, my mixed heritage as an Asian-American, and my exposure to nature in the forest I grew up in. Soon after making this decision, I contacted my former classmate, Alexander Chen, and asked him to join me as a co-creative director. We share a similar perspective as east coast, Asian-American designers and together we hope to bring clothes to the world that reflect quality and heritage.
